Springboard 1.03

Until now, creating animations was something that only professionals could do. That's because it requires a lot of experience and skills in order to create something of good quality. But with the launch of specialized software for creating animations, almost anyone can do this without problems and without requiring special skills. Such a software is Springboard. It's basically an application that enables you to create an animation video using frames.

The software is very easy to install and can run on most versions of the Windows operating system. Moreover, it takes up little hard disk space and requires little resources, compared to other similar programs.

The interface of Springboard resembles the one of regular image editing programs, featuring various drawing instruments. The program is based on frames. The user has to draw every frame and then play them together, creating the impression of movement and animation. The frame rate and the resolution can be adjusted.

Besides creating frames, Springboard also allows adding sound to the movie, allowing the user to import any WAV file stored in his computer. Besides that, images can also be imported, for mixing them together with sound and drawings.

Finished animations can be exported in various formats like GIF, JPEG, HTML or AVI video files. The program can use the system's codecs for creating the video file. The number of frames that can be added to an animation is unlimited.

Pros:
It allows anyone to create complex animations by drawing every frame. Besides that, the program can import images and sounds, for mixing them together with the drawings. Furthermore, finished animations can be exported as GIF, JPEG, HTML or AVI file. In case the user wants to create an AVI video of the animation, he can use one of the codecs installed into the system.

Cons:
The program seems a bit too simple to be used by professionals.
